OK, We'll Tell You: Here's How We Turned An Entryway Rug Into Wall Art
Step 1
Use a hot glue gun and glue sticks to create a channel at the top of your 2-feet-by-3-feet rug. To do so, simply fold one end of the rug over onto the backside by 3 to 4 inches. Make sure the channel is roomy enough to slip your 1/2-inch-wide copper pipe through. Glue the full length of the lower edge in place, and press down firmly with your fingertips for 30 seconds to ensure a tight hold.

Step 2
Follow the instructions that come with your tassel maker to create an armful of tassels. If you're using the same tassel maker that we did, set the maker on its smallest setting, and make 15 passes around the maker with twine.
For the wall hanging you see pictured here in this tutorial, we made 11 tassels, but feel free to make however many you'd like to get the look you have in mind.

Use the glue gun and glue sticks again to attach your handmade tassels along the front bottom edge of the rug, making sure to keep the spacing between as even as possible. (We eyeballed it!)

Create a hanger for your finished wall hanging by knotting twine on each end of the pipe. Then, all you have to do is hang the piece up on the wall using a picture nail and hammer.
