11 Speakers That Won't Ruin The Look Of Your Room
While the days of monster stereos and CD towers are long gone, music is still a very physical thing. So make sure that the way you're listening to your tunes looks good and doesn't mess up the vibe of your room (because let's be honest, there are some fugly speakers out there). Check out these picks that are design-forward:
1. Ikea Eneby Bluetooth Speaker, $49
Behold Ikea's first Bluetooth speaker: the Eneby. The smaller size (pictured here) is portable, while the larger version can be wall-mounted. Choose from white with a heather gray covering or black with a charcoal front.
2. Sonos x Hay, available September 2018
While the Sonos x Hay speaker isn't on the market yet, it's a collab we're extra-stoked on. After all, it's pretty much ideal, combining one of the best speakers on the market with the design of one of our favorite Danish brands.
3. Clear Cube Bluetooth Speaker, $14.99
Looking for something super-cheap to amplify sound at your desk? This Urban Outfitters clear cube is design-forward and non-offensive.
4. Digital Habits P.A.C.O. Concrete Speaker, $675
We're crushing hard on concrete, which is why this sophisticated speaker is calling to us. The choice of material isn't just for aesthetics — the concrete body enhances the bass while the fir wood top makes the treble ultra-clear.
5. Piet Hein Eek Tube Speaker, $195
Go for gold with Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek's tube speaker, which connects via Bluetooth or USB and includes a rechargeable battery.
6. Vifa Copenhagen Speaker, $799
Music doesn't have to be so serious. Bring color to a room with Vifa's portable speaker, which comes in a woven orange fabric that will definitely vibe with midcentury decor.
7. Cromatica Bluetooth Speaker, $399
Speaking of color, this speaker, exclusive to MoMA, glows in various shades, which you can control straight from your phone.
8. Audio Pro Addon C5 Dirty Pink WiFi/Wireless Speaker, $249
If the pink is a bit too girly for you, this speaker also comes in a more neutral gray.
9. Kikkerland Wood Speaker, $50
A perfect gift for your plywood-obsessed friend, Kikkerland's wood speaker would fit right in.
If you're looking for a serious speaker, then you can't go wrong with Bang & Olufsen, and while we could list all the impressive technical specifications of the M5, that seems rather boring. What isn't boring is its cool gray fabric covering, which also comes in a hunter green option.
11. Tivoli Audio PAL BT Speaker, available Summer 2018
Another forthcoming product we're excited about? Tivoli's limited edition Bluetooth speakers, coming out this summer. It will be available in three handsome shades, including a pale yellow and and a very 1950s-feeling aqua — but we're most fond of the deep teal, pictured here.
