Things Needed

Leather conditioner
Leather is a soft, supple material created from the skin of various animals, such as cows, pigs, goats or sheep. The material is treated to create a soft surface that is popular as a covering for furniture, clothing and accessories, such as purses. Leather is also very absorbent and stains easily, which can result in marks or stains if water or other liquid spills onto the leather. Cleaning water stains off a leather purse is possible with a few tools that are commonly found around the house or can be purchased at the local grocery or hardware store.
Step 1
Blot up as much of the liquid with a soft cloth as quickly as possible if the leather is still wet.
Step 2
Apply a small amount of moisturizing soap to a clean, soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not overwet the cloth, as this may cause further staining on the leather.
Step 3
Rub gently onto the water mark in a circular motion.
Step 4
Follow by rubbing gently with a clean, slightly damp cloth to remove the soap.
Step 5
Blot the area on the leather dry with a clean, soft cloth. Allow the purse to air-dry completely.
Step 6
Apply a small amount of leather conditioner to the purse to restore the texture of the leather.
