How To Freshen Comforters Without Washing

Comforters add a design element to the bedroom plus warmth to the bed while sleeping. The problem is these comforters are large and fluffy, often taking up your entire washing machine if it fits inside of the unit at all. Short of having the comforter taken to the laundromat or dry cleaners, there are several things you can do to freshen the comforter without washing it.

Step 1

Sprinkle a dusting of baking soda over the comforter, let sit for an hour and vacuum with the hose attachment of your cleaning unit.

Step 2

Flip over the comforter and repeat on the opposite side. The baking soda naturally deodorizes and freshens the fabric.

Step 3

Spray a fabric deodorizer over the comforter to freshen it even further, or fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of water and white vinegar and spray over the comforter.
