Cork boards can be really useful when hung up for easy access, but if you use nails or brackets to mount them you could end up damaging the wall. If you'd like to hang a cork board but still want the option to take it down whenever you want without worrying about the damage, you can use foam mounting strips. The mounting strips are strong enough to hold cork board and can be peeled off at any time without leaving a mark on the wall.
Step 1
Wash the wall where you wish to hang the cork board using warm, soapy water. This will strip the wall of oils, dust and other build up that could affect the hold on the mounting strips.
Step 2
Measure the width of the cork board using a measuring tape.
Step 3
Place two strips of heavy duty foam mounting tape on the clean wall, one for each top corner of the cork board, using the measurements you took earlier to determine their placement. Most mounting tape comes in pre-sized strips, but if you are able to determine your own strip size, cut them to be 3 inches long. The strips should run vertically, with the top of the strips as far apart as your cork board is wide.
Step 4
Pull away any protective paper that is covering the front of the foam mounting tape. Press the cork board directly on top of the exposed foam mounting tape. Hold the board firmly in place for 2 minutes.
