How Do I Program My Genesis Garage Door Opener?

The Genesis is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured and marketed by the Korean car company Hyundai. The car was originally released in 2008 and features a HomeLink Wireless Control System built-in to the car's rear view mirror. The HomeLink Wireless Control System replaces up to three hand-held radio frequency transmitters such as garage door openers and gate openers. You can program the HomeLink Wireless Control System in your Hyundai Genesis to replace your garage door opener.

Step 1

Press and hold the two outside buttons on the HomeLink Wireless Control System for approximately 20 seconds. When the indicator lights on the mirror begin to flash, release the buttons.

Step 2

Position your garage door opener remote transmitter approximately 1 inch from the HomeLink buttons.

Step 3

Press and hold the garage door opener button and any one of the three HomeLink buttons simultaneously.

Step 4

Wait for the lights on the mirror to begin flashing rapidly. The lights will at first flash slowly but will start to flash rapidly once the programming is complete.

Step 5

Release the buttons.

Step 6

Press and hold the HomeLink button you trained in Step 4. If the indicator light on the mirror stays on without flashing, the programming is complete. If the light continues to blink, repeat the steps to program the button again.
