How To Clean Paw Prints Off Of A Deck
Things Needed
-
Bucket
-
Oxygen bleach
-
Garden hose
-
Stiff-bristle brush
After a walk or trek through the back yard, your four-legged friends tend to leave their paw prints dotted across your deck. The marks normally contain dried dirt and mud that become crusty after they have dried. Sweeping the prints with a broom does little to dislodge the blemishes from the deck, which requires liquid and soap to soften the dirt and clean it from your outdoor living space.
Step 1
Move any furniture that may get in your way as you clean the paw prints from the deck.
Step 2
Fill a bucket with warm water and 1/4 cup of oxygen bleach. Wet the paw prints with a garden hose drenching them liberally.
Step 3
Pour 1 cup of the cleaning solution over each print mark. Wet a stiff-bristle scrub brush with the cleaning mixture and scrub the paw prints, loosening the dirt from the deck.
Step 4
Rinse the soap and dirt from the deck with the garden hose. If a portion of the prints remain, wet them again with the cleaning solution and scrub with the brush until the dirt loosens completely from the deck.
Step 5
Rinse the deck again with the garden hose. Allow the deck floor to dry completely before placing furniture back on top of it.
Tip
Oxygen bleach is a safer alternative to cleaning with chlorine bleach, which could harm deck wood.
