How To Get Rid Of Ladybugs In A House With Lemons
Things Needed
-
Plastic spray bottle
-
3 cups water
-
1/4 cup lemon juice
-
2 tbsp. liquid dish soap
-
Hand vac or shop vac
A few ladybugs inside the home are an innocuous presence that usually does not affect your everyday life. Dozens or even hundreds of ladybugs inside of your home, however, are a nuisance, especially when they begin to fall into your hair, bathtub or breakfast cereal. A homemade lemon spray not only kills ladybugs in your home on the spot, the odor also deters any ladybugs from invading your home in the future.
Step 1
Pour 3 cups water into a plastic spray bottle.
Step 2
Add 1/4 cup lemon juice and 2 tbsp. liquid dish soap to the bottle.
Step 3
Replace the bottle's top and shake it vigorously to mix all of the ingredients.
Step 4
Spray the mixture directly onto any ladybugs inside of your home. Look for ladybugs near heat sources; many ladybugs enter homes to escape cooler temperatures outside.
Step 5
Vacuum up the deceased ladybugs with a hand vac. Use a shop vac if there are several ladybugs to be removed.
Step 6
Empty the contents of the vacuum inside an outdoor trash can.
Tip
Prevent any ladybugs from entering your home by sealing any cracks in the house's exterior and burning lemon-scented candles.
