Clean, white cloth

Rubbing alcohol
-
Sponge
-
Clean towel
Black rubber stains, also called scuff marks, can show up on your painted walls easily. Carelessly throwing shoes against the wall can leave rubber stains from the soles. Bumping furniture into the walls can leave black rubber stains from the bumpers or feet of the piece. To remove rubber stains, start with the least abrasive method first.
Step 1
Erase the black rubber stain with a pencil eraser. Use gentle pressure so you don't remove any paint.
Step 2
Spray a clean white cloth with household cleaner and dab at the stain softly until it comes off, if the eraser does not work.
Step 3
Dampen a white cloth with rubbing alcohol and dab once at the largest part of the stain. Look at the cloth. If you see black rubber on the cloth, continue dabbing the rest of the stain until it comes off.
Step 4
Wet a sponge with the rubbing alcohol, if the white cloth is not removing the stain. Gently scrub the stain, being sure you're not removing any paint with the stain. Scrub until the mark is gone. Wipe the wall down with a wet cloth and dry it with a clean towel.
